As many of you know I have been trying to be more Eco-friendly this year and this is another theme that I have included in my blog. I have a had couple of wonderful guest blogger post about being Eco-friendly and they provided great tips and tricks that we all can incorporate around the house.
As a result, because I journal and write a lot I have been trying to purchase paper products that are Eco-friendly and naturally produced. Thus, I was very eager to do a review and giveaway for EcoPaper Inc. aka Costa Rica Natural Paper Co. a Fine Environmental Papers company.
Summary:
Ever Since I could remember I have always kept a journal. It helps me get out my frustrations, deal with a difficult moment and helped me talk my way through or plan out my next move in life. I was always particular about the journal covers. They had to be special and mean something for me based on the time period in my life.
This year is about change for me, so I picked a journal that had a picture of butterfly on it.
I was surprised to open the package to find that I had been blessed with 2 journals and a notebook from EcoPaper. Now I can keep one journal at home, the notebook at work and will have a spare journal.
EcoPaper Inc. has it ALL- from Journals, to sketchpad to notebooks and office and school supplies. I absolutely LOVE the artwork that is on their products. They are individualistic and can represent each and everyone of us in some form or fashion.
The other positive that when your purchase anything from EcoPaper Inc., you know you are going to get quality paper products and you are also helping the environment.
I am so glad that I found EcoPaper. It is one stop shop to all your stationery product needs.

About the Founder of EcoPaper Inc.: Harry Johansing
In 1989 Harry Johansing took a surf trip to Costa Rica with no idea he would fall for the diverse ecological region, never wanting to part. With years of experience working with Kinko's, he never imagined one day supporting a Costa Rican lifestyle producing tree free papers. What is now a business producing uniquely sustainable and high quality tree free papers, once began as a small time company making colorful pads to sell as souvenirs.
About the Traditional Paper Industry Effects on the Environment
(Per EcoPaper Inc., website)
Among many environmental worries related to the manufacturing of traditional paper, we can mention:
- » Biodiversity loss
- » Replacement of natural or primary woods by tree plantations
- » The insufficient use of waste paper and fibers that do not come from wood
- » The domain of large scale mills that have a great political influence
- » The continuous use of chlorine as a bleach
- » Insufficient research regarding alternative technologies to produce paper in a cleaner way
- » High levels of paper use which are not sustainable, especially in rich countries
- » Systems of paper recollection and exports of paper impact the way of living of paper collectors in poor countries
- » Excessive demand of transport in the commercial cycle of paper
- » The hidden subsidies that promote the use of wood fiber rather than alternative fibers.
